Insurance / Payment Guidelines

Our practice accepts most all dental insurance plans and we also are contractual participating providers with Delta Dental, Cigna and United Concordia/Independence Blue Cross. We do not accept or participate in Medicaid or any Dental HMO or DMO.

Accepting insurance means that if you have, for example, Aetna, MetLife, Assurant or another dental Insurance carrier, we will verify your eligibility and bill the carrier for you. Any remaining balance will be your financial responsibility. This payment portion is referred to as a co-payment.

NOTE: For patients with Delta Dental, Cigna or United Concordia / Independence Blue Cross, there is a different procedure. We will verify eligibility and bill insurance for you exactly like we do for all insurance plans. However, because we are contractual participants with those two companies, you will only be financially responsible for the copayment that has been agreed to by these companies and by us. This is almost always less that the copayment for companies with which we do not share a contractual arrangement.

Financial Policies

Affordability is a critical aspect of our practice. We make every effort to find ways to help patients meet their budgetary limits while receiving the best care within those limits. We use strategies including treatment staging and third-party financing.

Our financial policy is that all payments for procedures and all copayments are due and payable at the beginning of each procedure, unless previous financial arrangements have been made with Thomas J. Stern DMD PC.
